Revelation 8 marks a major transition in John’s vision. The seventh seal is opened, and heaven becomes silent. Then seven angels are given seven trumpets. As the first four trumpets sound, devastating judgments affect the earth, the sea, fresh water, and the heavens.
Chapter 8 reminds us that:
- God is sovereign even in judgment.
- Heaven responds to earthly suffering through prayer.
- God's judgment is purposeful and righteous.
- Humanity is being warned before the final judgments come.
- God's people should remain spiritually awake and faithful.
